Pakistan team departs for New Zealand tour

 The Men in Green will play Test and T20I series against the home side



The 55-member Pakistan contingent left for Lincoln, New Zealand in the wee hours of Monda morning ahead of their Test and T20I series against the home side.

Pakistan squad comprises of 35 players, including members of Shaheens team, and 20 officials.

The three-match T20I series will be staged in Auckland (December 18), Hamilton (December 20) and Napier (December 22).

Meanwhile, Mount Maunganui will hold the Boxing Day Test from December 26-30, before the two teams head down to Christchurch for the second Test to be played from January 3-7.

The Shaheens, previously known as Pakistan A team, will concurrently play two four-day and four 20-over matches.

The players will undergo 14 days of quarantine after which they will be free to go around as they please. The players and support staff will spend three days alone in total isolation in Auckland, upon arrival, during which they will not be allowed to leave or meet each other.

A test will be conducted on the fourth day after which groups of 15 individuals will be made which will include both players and support staff members. Members of these groups will live in their own separate areas and will not be allowed to interact with individuals of other groups for the remainder of their quarantine periods.
